Connect your workflows

Describe the event, conditions, and actions before you build the automation.

Follow the event, decisions, and actions.

01

Choose a meaningful event

Begin with one business change, such as an order being created. Write down why that event should cause further work.

02

Express the conditions

Use rules to define which records qualify. Keep the criteria understandable enough that someone can explain why a case matched or was rejected.

03

Choose explicit actions

Describe the intended change. Each action should have a clear purpose, an actor or context, and an outcome you can inspect.

04

Inspect the execution

Follow the timeline and rejection reasons. If external delivery is involved, inspect the related outbox instead of assuming a successful internal action means the external work is finished.

05

Plan repeat behavior

Decide how retries should behave. Use idempotency where repeating the same intended action must not duplicate its effect.
